SMICP logoMS Society Branches get online with iT4Communities

Client

The MS Society is the UK's largest charity for people affected by multiple sclerosis (MS) - about 100,000 people in the UK.

The challenge

The Senior Volunteer Development Officer at MS Society West approached iT4Communities to find additional volunteer help to support the MS Society's local branches across the UK. With a UK-wide volunteer network of IT professionals wishing to give their time and skills, iT4Communities were a natural partner for the society.

Our help

MS Sutton Coldfield website

A screenshot from a branch website

Seven MS Society branches have so far been supported. These include Oswestry, Sutton Coldfield, Mendip and Waltham Forest.

All of the branches decided to ask for help with their websites, the area where they were most in need. The volunteers who came in to offer their technical skills have in many cases stayed involved the charity to provide ongoing website support.

The results

  • Seven MS Society branches have working websites
  • Over £10,000 of IT support delivered
  • MS Society broaden their volunteering roles to include skills based/technical volunteering
  • MS Society branch information easily accessible online
