Meet the Team
John Davies
John Davies is
Programme Director of iT4Communities,responsible for strategic management and day to day direction.
He has wide experience of the unique Project Definition process of iT4C. John managed the delivery of the new website system from
requirements to its 2006 launch.
Before joining iT4Communities, John was a technical consultant in mobile telecoms specialising in requirements analysis and technical sales. He started in IT as a systems programmer in the university sector.
John is originally from Lancashire but has become an enthusiastic Londoner while maintaining strong connections in the north of England and Scotland.
Nigel Davies
Nigel Davies (no relation to John) does most of our administration work and will often be the person you talk to on our office number.
Nigel is the "engine room" of iT4Communities - without him we really would be "dead in the water"!
He does all this alongside his other business, gardening, for which combination of jobs he is much envied by some of his more office bound colleagues (except when its cold and wet, of course). In the rest of life, Nigel is a keen filmgoer, a cricket lover and a Manchester City supporter
Anne Donnelly
Anne Donnelly is a freelance Project Definer and she also helped with testing and data migration for the new
website system. She is also responsible for the content of the website and for editing our regular newsletters.
Anne has a long IT career – much of it has involved analysis of requirements, often dealing with clients who need to converse in “plain English”, so she is well qualified to assist charities of varying IT-awareness and produce those pithy paragraphs which you will find in our list of volunteer opportunities.
Outside her freelance IT work, Anne also runs a business organising wildlife and bird-watching holidays in Shetland and elsewhere. Outside business, Anne has a wide range of hobbies including football, classic cars, needlework and wildlife watching. She also volunteers her time with the RNIB helping visually-impaired people make the best use of their computer equipment.
Peter Munro
Peter Munro is a freelance Project Definer. Although initially trained in accountancy, he moved into IT, and his expertise covers
all aspects
of the application life cycle from the vision and business justification, through design, development and implementation, to support
and enhancement, and has lots of experience in negotiating contracts with suppliers.
Peter has worked in the private, public, and voluntary sectors, and his accountancy, business, and technical experience enables him to establish quickly a rapport with users.
Outside work, Peter provides his financial, project management and IT expertise to a variety of charities, and finds time for Scottish country dancing and research into family and social history. He is a director of Scottish Borders Social Enterprise Chamber.
Anne Stafford
Anne Stafford joined iT4C as a Development Consultant in December 2005, and is now Deputy Programme Director.
Before joining iT4C, she ran a project based in the Big Issue in Brighton for 3 years, offering access to the Internet and computers for people who are homeless. She ran and organised web design, film making and music making courses as well as basic computing and Internet skills, literacy courses and job/training searching opportunities. This much acclaimed project would not have been possible without the support of a team of technical volunteers.
During this time Anne also designed and ran IT courses for the community and voluntary groups in Brighton. She worked with local groups to help with IT planning and hands on technical support.
Anne's specialist knowledge and experience is managing public access Internet spaces on a low budget with a team of volunteers.
Originally setting off on a financial services career, Anne became an 'accidental techie' whilst working as an office manager and when volunteering. Taking a liking to the problem solving aspect of technology her career side-stepped in the early '90s into web development and e-learning.
Having spent 3 years working for an e-learning company during which time Anne studied for a Masters in Information Systems, Anne has a good understanding of the corporate side of IT as well as its applications for the 3rd sector.
Josh Hoole
Josh Hoole is our Development Consultant and he works on the Marketing and PR side to promote our charity as the main
source of IT Volunteering in the UK. Josh's communications background comes from both the private and voluntary sectors and he
is eager to hear as many IT volunteering stories as possible.
Josh was previously employed as Communications Coordinator for Richmond CVS where he developed the Communications Strategy and edited the newsletters and annual reports. He also set up, promoted and managed a successful Graphic Design & Print Service as a social enterprise.
Outside of work Josh plays Touch Rugby in Richmond and can often be seen running through Bushy Park and, on rare occasions, body boarding in Wales.
