Our ICT Hub colleagues at LASA maintain a treasure trove of useful information about ICT in the voluntary sector at - www.icthubknowledgebase.org.uk
The articles are mostly written in fairly simple terms. A good example is "What to expect from an IT support contract" which covers topics like "Charges and number of support hours the contract covers" and "Response times". Its aimed at non-technical people and will help you get started on that support contract you have been threatening to set up (perhaps you had to pay for emergency support just recently?).
The KnowledgeBase contains over 300 other articles on subjects such as "Getting A Website - Introduction", "Do You Need A Network?" and "Spam Management" and more specialised topics such as "Mac OS X Accessibility Features" and "X Marks The Spot - What Is XML?". There is a simple search facility up at the top right of www.icthubknowledgebase.org.uk so give it a try!
As always, call us if you have any questions or use the ICT Hub helpline on 0800 652 4737.
