CARES
Cares is Business in the Community's national campaign to engage employees in their communities through volunteering. More than 400 companies support city-based and regional Cares partnerships in 32 locations across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.Cares can arrange for member companies to do one day 'Team Challenges'
at community organisations across the UK. Teams of 10-30 volunteers volunteer for one day, undertaking tasks such as painting and decorating offices or community space, gardening and planting or event organising etc - whatever your organisation needs!Cares also has a database of volunteering opportunities for individuals, these can be short term e.g. helping at an event, or longer-term e.g. mentoring, coaching etc. If you are looking for a team or individual volunteer then visit: www.bitc.org.uk/cares to find out where your local Cares is.
PROHELP
ProHelp is a national network of 1,000 professional firms who give some of their service free to local community groups and voluntary organisations. If you need assistance with specific projects e.g.
drafting a business plan, negotiating a lease, accountancy advice or some kind of property valuation, ProHelp may be able to help.The service is free of charge to charities and voluntary groups and is available in over 30 locations across the UK. Members of ProHelp include accountants who can help with business plans, developing financial policies and procedures, architects and surveyors who can help with building surveys, detailed plans and drawings and valuations, solicitors who can help with company/charity registration, contracts, employment policies and contracts and property issues. There are also marketing and communication agencies who may be able to help with brand development and communication planning.
