We hope that 2007 has started well for all of you and your resolutions are holding fast. Here at iT4C we have a great and challenging line up for the year, which include numerous events to boost referrals and projects progression, another awards ceremony is planned for later in the year and you will be seeing more of us at IT Sector events.
As part of our plans we would like to encourage more IT professionals to join us, even if it is to carry out a small one-off project as we understand that everyone is busy. Every little bit helps to make small charities' budgets stretch that little bit further. So if you know of anyone who might be interested, please direct them to us. Similarly, if you work for a large company and you think that the company should be engaging more with the community, this is your chance to take the first step to make this happen.
We have a company volunteering scheme, for example your company can commit to a number of days or hours per year in order to help small charities trying to keep abreast of technological advances. There are other options including reporting back on your volunteering effort but we have to charge for the more complex ones to cover the additional work we do. For more on company volunteering take a look at our Companies section or get in touch with John Davies at info@iT4Communities.org.uk
Remember every little bit helps! With this in mind we would like to encourage you to share with us our vision for 2007:
These are:
More volunteer registrations
Many of our volunteers are only able to give a little time to work on iT4C projects. We don't ask that you start to donate your time when you register. Its important therefore that we keep adding to our registered volunteers. So if you know any IT professionals who would enjoy and benefit from volunteering their time and skills you know where to point them.
More projects being completed
Last year the charitable work of iT4C volunteers reached the impressive £2m mark. This year we would like to increase that by half a million.
More networking
If you know of events where iT4C will be able to meet and sign up more volunteers please let us know.
More charities
The more charities who register with us the more chance that you can find an interesting project in your area. If you come across a charity who don't know about iT4C please tell them all about usAnd for those of you who may have missed the awards and our major milestone here is more from Computer Weekly. Best wishes for 2007,
Best wishes,
