Welcome

We have had an overwhelming response to our article on brochure websites in last month's issue. A lot of suggestions rolled in as a result. However, many organisations are still in need of volunteer support in setting up basic websites. Many organisations simply require a basic site that will act as a window display for their services. If you think you are able to put together a basic website quickly or know someone who can, do get in touch with us.

As technology advances it is easy to leave behind those most in need as the rest of us embrace the latest offerings. There are many charities still at the beginnings of the technological revolution and they need a helping hand onto the first rung. As you can imagine, most small organisations are battling to get an online presence, but do not know where to start. If you are able to complete at least one basic website project it would go a long way towards achieving this. To learn more about making technology inclusive, you are invited to the Digital Inclusion Conference 2007.

This is what some of our charities had to say about work done for them by iT4Communities volunteers:

'We have now got a good web site which the public can access to get information about our services and find out how to refer themselves to us. It is a huge benefit and essential in this age of e business.'
                                                                                      York Family Mediation Service

'The willingness of Adrian to go the extra mile and to be patient when asked stupid questions. He explained all options and consequences clearly giving clear explanations.'
                                                                                                Through the Roof

'The benefit was enormous both in financial savings and in the quality of the systems we can now operate. Martin continues to volunteer for us as support and is always willing to help and be involved. He also helps us to get the best deals when buying hard or software.'
Relate Brighton Hove Worthing & Districts

I would love to have more contributions from our readership. To submit suggestions for future issues of this newsletter email info@iT4Communities.org.uk.

Best wishes,
Tam Williams
