A Night in Las Vegas

Do you fancy "A Night in Las Vegas"?
This is the theme of this year's Intellect ICT Charity Ball ball, scheduled for Thursday 5 July. The event, compered by Jeremy Beadle, will raise money for Ace Centres, a charity that helps disabled people with complex physical and communication difficulties, working with technology such as that used by scientist Stephen Hawking to communicate. Ace is currently helping to push the boundaries in eye-gaze-controlled technology for people with severe disabilities.

The organisers are looking for four more companies to join Xerox, EDS, Cable & Wireless and Symantec as sponsors of the event, which is supported by Computer Weekly and the Information Technologists Company.

Last year, the ICT Charity Ball raised more than £50,000 for two charities: YouthNet, which helps disadvantaged children, and the WCIT charity, iT4Communities.

The ball is open to professionals from across the IT industry, whether users, suppliers or consultants.
