On-Going Technical Support – Do You Want To Do It?

We don’t normally advertise requests from charities for on-going long term support. We assume that you want the satisfaction of completing a task within a reasonable time period. We don’t want you to feel that you’re tied to a charity.
But I imagine there are advantages to working with a charity for a longer period:

  • You’ll get to know the people you’re working with - they’ll become friends rather than just acquaintances
  • You’ll see how much they’ve benefited from your help – and get a nice warm feeling
  • You’ll be familiar with their systems and can suggest fixes quickly

So is this the sort of project you’d like to work on? Would you be willing to commit to visiting the same charity on regular basis? Once a week? Once a month? What about providing telephone support?
As ever e-mail info@iT4Communities.org.uk to let us know what you think. And if you’d like us to advertise on-going technical support opportunities is there any additional information you’d need?
