Opportunities a la carte! iT4C goes RSS

We have often been asked why we don't make opportunities easier to reach for volunteers. We are careful to reveal only information that charities know will be revealed - here are our current rules -

• You can't see opportunities without signing on (apart from the projects in the Newsletter)
• You can't request an opportunity (i.e. ask for contacts) without signing on

We plan to relax the first rule. As you see it is already slightly relaxed for the Volunteer Newsletter so we have told charities (in this week's Charity Newsletter) that we plan to make opportunities visible without volunteers signing on. We need to give charities a chance to remove their opportunities if they don't like this. Once we have done this and completed some final checking then you will find an RSS feed link on your iT4C home page. We have also been looking at ways of re-purposing the RSS information using Yahoo Pipes so we'll also publish that. Please tell us how this works for you. Tell us how you would like it changed and tell the world about your marvellous Pipe (or other re-purposing tool) so we can all share.
