Case Study

Name of Charity:

CHC Cricklewood Homeless Concern

Name of volunteer

Damian Gunner

Project Summary

This charity that supports single homeless people to find accommodation and achieve their ambitions would like a volunteer to help them create an IT Strategy. The charity currently has nothing in place but would like the strategy to be able to help them manage their systems, help them understand how ICT can help them achieve their aims and for them to be able to raise funding for ICT equipment and resources.

Project Delivery

The project changed mid way in that whilst Damian had been very helpful and in fact had created a skeleton strategy, CHC then recruited an IT manager, a part of whose role will be to complete the strategy.
The project took six months: meeting with Damian to discuss progress and taking on board his recommendations.

Lessons
Learnt

The value of professional and unbiased expertise. No, I don’t think we would have done it differently. It is just that the project took an unexpected turn i.e. CHC recruiting an IT manager as it identified new funding.

Outcomes for the Charity

Expert professional pro bono support, timely and well delivered
