IT Volunteer Awards 2007 - Win £250 for Your Charity

IT Awards 2007

'Working Towards a Better World'

Calling all IT volunteers - let's celebrate the role IT professionals are playing in the communities in which they are active. Our Volunteer Awards are about more than money and prestige. They are to celebrate your skills and expertise and the patience that you readily give to small voluntary sector organisations. It's only thanks to you that many organisations find that they are able to efficiently deliver their services. We want to recognise and celebrate this commitment.

To make the awards a success we need your input. We want to know about the projects that you've worked on and the difference that you've made to the organisation you worked with. So don't be shy - nominate yourself or the charity you are working with for one or our awards.

This year there are four categories or awards and the overall theme for the event is "Working Towards a Better World".

The categories are:

1 - Best IT Volunteer
2 - Best IT Volunteering Project - impact on organisations
3 - Best IT Volunteering Project - innovation
4 - Best Accessible IT Volunteering Project

As well as receiving a trophy the charity or voluntary organisation associated with the winner in each category will receive a cash prize of £250.

If you have been working with a charity or other organisation on a volunteering basis we would love to have a nomination from you. Imagine how much a £250 windfall would mean to that organisation. In addition all the finalists will be featured on our website and in publicity surrounding the event. This publicity should go a long way towards raising the profile of the organisation - every little helps!

For more information on the awards and to make a nomination visit the special awards section of the website. Don't delay - the closing date is Saturday 6th October.

Last year's awards ceremony was a great night. If you weren't there why not come along on 29th November to see what you missed. As well as celebrating the role of the volunteer it's a great opportunity to network with other IT volunteers and some of the charities you've been helping.

As ever if you need more information or have an idea you'd like to pass on please contact us on info@it4communities.org.uk
