Welcome to the October 2007 issue of the iT4Comunities Volunteer Newsletter.
We're very much in a celebratory mood this month. First of all we're welcoming Josh Hoole our new Development Consultant. Josh joined us last week and one of his first tasks will be helping to ensure the smooth running of our 2007 IT volunteering awards.
We're getting close to the final deadline on Saturday 6th October for nominations for the awards. If you've been thinking about making a nomination you've still got time but don't put it off too long. The awards ceremony will be on Thursday 29th November at the WCIT Hall. We'd love to see you there. Why not reserve your place now?
Our second cause for celebration is the successful completion of the latest stage of our website development work. The final release was made in mid-September and we're extremely pleased with the results.
Thank you for all your comments about our new RSS feed. I think in general you've voted it a hit. We'll use your suggestions when we're looking at changes and further development of the site. Personally I think the RSS must be working - a few days ago we published a new opportunity on the website and less than ten minutes later a volunteer had requested details - how's that for a quick response?
Finally, on a light-hearted note, here's an example of volunteering that got slightly out of hand!
Until next time, enjoy your volunteering!
Best wishes,
Anne Donnelly - Newsletter Editor
