What is the Status of Your Projects?

In Progress? Completed? or Still Available?

We appreciate that many of the charities we aim to help are small and cannot always respond rapidly to phone messages or emails but please acknowledge message form volunteers and prospective volunteers as soon as possible. We strive to keep up the enthusiasm of our volunteers and to inform them of the difficulties under which you operate. When a volunteer can't get to the right person immediately, try for a quick email response such as "Please let me know when I can call you" or a call back from a colleague saying "The person you need to talk to will call you. Can you tell me a couple of times when that would be convenient?". Many of our volunteers are new to our sector and its important to introduce them gradually to our culture.

Going Live!

We are busy updating our database of registered projects. It would really help if you could let us know of any changes in the statuses of your projects. When projects have been withdrawn or have found a volunteer, they need to be taken off our lists promptly, because volunteers get very discouraged if they're given details of projects which are actually no longer available. So PLEASE:

  • Let us know whenever the status of a project changes in any way, or if you are no longer able to proceed
  • Reply to volunteer queries as quickly as possible.
  • Let us know as soon as you choose a volunteer and start a project
  • Let us know as soon as you complete a project.
