What region am I in?

You may have noticed when you registered with us that we ask you to name your region of the UK. What we didn't tell you is how to find out what region you are in. Its easy enough in N5 (London) or EH1 (Scotland) but where is Rickmansworth? For the simply curious or the nicely helpful (to
iT4C) just go to http://www.gos.gov.uk/national which has a search box "Find which region your City/Town is in" for the 9 English regions.

I guess everyone else in the UK knows where they are, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland (although I have heard pedants arguing about Monmouth and Berwick upon Tweed). We have to report by region to the ACU, as for much government funded work. The ACU are providing about 75% of our funding as part of the ICT Hub (from ChangeUp - now becoming Capacity Builders).
If you have to report to government-related funders then you will know about this already. If they don't then you might need to know if you apply for funding from any body which is government connected. Here comes our ulterior motive. We need all our registered volunteers and charities to know which region they are in - so we can report our regional outcomes accurately. Incidentally Rickmansworth is in East of England (EoE) despite being north west of London, right on the M25.
