Charity Project Case Study

Name of Charity:

Relate Brighton Hove Worthing & Districts

Name of volunteer

Martin O’Donnell

Project Aim

The aim was to update and upgrade our ICT systems which were outdated and unstable but we didn’t really know what we wanted or needed. Martin worked with the Centre Manager and our administration team.

Project Delivery

Martin told us what we could achieve and gave a presentation to our Board of Trustees who agreed to the financial commitment. Initially Martin gave a full 7 hours a week both on site and at home.

Lessons Learnt

Key factors: Planning, training, communication and team work and a sense of humour.

I think we could have done a bit more homework beforehand to ascertain what we needed.
Outcomes for the Charity

The benefit was enormous both in financial savings and in the quality of the systems we can now operate.

Martin continues to volunteer for us as support and is always willing to help and be involved. He also helps us to get the best deals when buying hard or software.

If you would like to showcase any of your ICT related projects so that others can learn from you, please get in touch with us at info@iT4Communities.org.uk
