Since we launched the new website system at the end of May we have had
an enormous amount of site feedback from you, the majority of which
was regarding Area Details for Projects (now called Work Packages) or
should I say the lack of them. This was our most important oversight
when we specified the new system. Over the last few weeks I have been
adding Area Details to the Work Packages manually and have so far
updated the most recent Work Packages for the London, South East,
North West and South West Regions. I’m currently updating the rest of
the regions and hope to have all the recent work packages for all the
regions updated in the next few weeks. In the meantime please email me
if you find a potentially interesting Work Package which has not yet
been updated, or if there is an opportunity which is not located
precisely enough for you. We’ve already included some of your
suggestions in our next round of changes but we are always looking to
improve the system, so please keep those site feedback forms coming.I‘ve also had a lot of emails from you letting me know that you have
changed your contact details. You might not be aware that all our
volunteers have your own ‘account’ and you can amend the details of
your account yourself. Here’s how to go about it.
- Go to www.iT4Communities.org.uk and Login with your username and password. If you have forgotten your username please contact me
- You should see ‘Welcome to our Volunteering Channel
- Select ‘My Account’ from the Left Hand Middle Menu
- You should see ‘Volunteer Account’ with your contact details
- You can alter any aspect of your account and you can also unsubscribe from the Volunteer Newsletter if you wish.
- All you have to do to Unsubscribe is to tick the ‘Would you like to
opt out of the email newsletter’. *Always* tick the ‘I agree to this
disclaimer box’ or you will still continue to receive the newsletter
and then finally don’t forget to click the *Submit* button. It is still relatively early days for the new system but we are all
pleased with how the first stage has worked and although there have
been one or two minor glitches in the system the Team at iT4C are
working hard to put them right. I hope that over the coming weeks you
will notice the changes that have been implemented and if you like what you see please tell your friends and colleagues – If you don’t like what you see please tell us.
