From this issue we start a count down to the our amazing first Annual Conference and Awards!
Here at iT4Communities we are very much looking forward to the day, because for the first time we will get a chance to meet many of you. All we know of you is the great work you are doing, the occasional email and telephone call, but there is nothing that will beat actually meeting some of you. Information on how to register for the conference, and how to nominate or be nominated is found on this page. On this page you will also get the chance to preview the awards. These awards aim to acknowledge and show appreciation of the great works being carried out by IT Professional Volunteers throughout the UK. And of course you are wondering who the judges will be and speakers of the event. You will find all this information on the conference page.
We would like you all to take part in this great event:
I must own up, I am curious to meet some of the names, voices and email messages we regularly communicate with. It will be great to meet some of the volunteers who have engaged so remarkably with the sector. We all know that the voluntary sector is a very challenging environment to work in, however, in the same breath, I am sure you will agree with me when I say it is one of the most rewarding sectors to be involved with. So far most of you are voices or emails to us at iT4C, so it would be great to put a face to some of these.
As part of this event we will be honouring volunteer IT Professionals, their companies and the organisations they volunteer for with awards in various categories. We request that you share this information with organisations you are working and invite them to nominate you for the awards. Please feel free to disseminate it to your constituency.
The ICT Hub is also hosting a lot of events aimed at the organisations you are working with, so it would be great if you can make them aware of these. You will find these on the www.icthub.org.uk
