Volunteering England has launched a campaign to promote Volunteer Centres and increase public awareness of them as the places to go if you want to volunteer. Charities and small community organisations are always on the lookout for skills to help them in achieve their objectives. As you are already aware, skilled people are very hard to come by and for small local organisations it is even more difficult as they usually do not have the budget to meet their needs. As such even if the local volunteer centres may not cater for IT professionals, you might know someone who has other skills or wish to get involved in their local community, so please pass on the information.

Tell them about iT4C if you contact them. We are working more and more with volunteer centres and we can list them as a referrer so they get credit for helping us to place IT professional volunteers.
