Twitter - is it working?
I am sure you are bored of everyone talking (tweeting?) about Twittering via Twitter? iT4Communities have been using Facebook, LinkedIn and recently Twitter to communicate with our volunteer community. I like the fact that we can see the faces of our volunteers on LinkedIn and get an insight into their personality on Facebook.
Twitter is new to us and I am responsible for our occasional Twitterings, letting people who are signed up and interested know short pieces of news or things I have spotted and think might appeal.
I will let you know how it goes but if you are a membership organisation or campaign organisation you may wish to consider using this quick and easy 'stay in touch' tool if you do not already. So far my comments would be that it was very easy to set up and very quick to post occasionally.
Other charities using it include, Dogs Trust, Age Concern, Media Trust, Hearing Dogs and several Trusts and Foundations - it is worth taking a look (it is also rather pretty). The main page is at twitter.com and you can see our Tweets at twitter.com/iT4C
