Welcome
Welcome to the May edition of the iT4Communities charity newsletter.
So far this year iT4Communities has seen an unprecedented number of volunteer registrations.
We have had nearly 900 volunteers register since January all wanting to help. Do you need their help? Do you know anyone else who does? Can you put up a poster for us so that these skilled IT people can be found placements?
We are not quite sure why such a large (and steady) flow of volunteers is registering, it could be a result of lots of press about us following our Awards in February. Some is as a result of our work with large IT companies, Fujitsu for example, to help their staff volunteer. You may have also seen commentary that the economic climate has encouraged a rise in volunteering.
So in this time of often bad news, the good news is that iT4Communities has lots of volunteers looking to help.
If you have a project with us, please let us know if you still need help and, just as importantly, if you do not - we would not like to advertise opportunities that do not exist, as this is off-putting to keen volunteers.
Please also tell other people that iT4Communities is looking for projects. Projects from not for profits, charities, social enterprises and community/voluntary groups are all welcomed.
And if you haven't had a chance yet, please check out the video from our awards ceremony.
