The Community Development Foundation grants programme Connecting Community Plus - applications close on 8th January 2008
Kellogg's Active Living Fund - This fund gives small grants to fund projects and activities that directly lead to people taking part in sustained physical activity. The aim of the fund is to help remove the barriers which stop people being active.
Tree for All - the Woodland Trust is offering grants for community tree planting initiatives. Grants are available until the end of January 2008.
The KPMG Foundation considers applications for their general grants programme once a year. There focus is on education and social projects for the disadvantaged and under privileged, with particular emphasis on unlocking the potential of children and young people, up to 30 years of age, who for primarily social reasons have not fulfilled their educational potential.
Youth Music has three programmes offering funding to projects involving young people in making music.
The Department for International Development provides funding for activities aimed at promoting public knowledge and understanding of development issues. The next deadline for applications to the Development Awareness Fund is 30 November 2007.
The Heritage Lottery Fund has an initiative to allow partnerships representing community interests to tackle the needs of landscapes.
Red Nose Day programme - Comic Relief are concentrating their funding on 7 programme areas: Young People; around issues of alcohol, mental health and those being sexually exploited or trafficked; Older People; Mental Health; Refugees & Asylum Seekers; Domestic Violence. Various sizes of grants are awarded and there are no deadlines for grants under £5000.
Commonwealth Youth Exchange provides information, advice and grant funding for groups of young people undertaking an exchange visit with a group in a Commonwealth country.
The UKVillages Community Kitty is a fund from which a number of grants from between �50 - �300 are allocated to community projects. The closing date for the next round of grants is 10 April 2008.
Mediabox, which is run by a consortium consisting of First Light Movies, Media Trust, Skillset and the UK Film Council, offers grants for film, radio, television, print, photography and interactive media projects working with young people. The deadline for the next round is 20 November 2007.
The Big Lottery Fund administers the Community Assets programme which offers grants for refurbishment of local authority buildings in England, to enable their transfer to the third sector.
The next closing date for applications to BBC Children in Need is 30 November 2007. Projects must show a clear focus on children.
Biffaward supports projects across the UK which enhance communities or biodiversity at various levels from £250 upwards. The next deadline for submission is 14 December 2007.
