Welcome
Welcome to the August edition of the iT4Communities volunteer newsletter.
Firstly I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted for us in the Money Saving Expert poll to choose their supported charities of the year. Unfortunately we weren't one of the winners but we did fantastically well even to feature in the poll at all - there were over 600 nominations and we made it into the final twelve.
Congratulations to the charities that won - like every other charity they do fantastic work and we wish them well.
We're also grateful to Money Saving Expert for featuring us on their site. We hope the extra publicity will help us recruit more volunteers and also more charities needing help with IT projects.
Elsewhere in this issue:
- Congratulations on a fantastic achievement
- We set out our stall in the city
- Intellect have chosen us as beneficiaries of their 'night at the Moulin Rouge'
- We've a special discount offer on O'Reilly books
- If you're interested in the power of grid computing this competition might be for you
- Are "clouds" a solution for charities?
- This month's case study ...
- Our usual round-up of IT and volunteering related events
- The all-important opportunities of the month - charities in urgent need of help
I hope you enjoy this issue. If you have comments on any of the features in this newsletter, about iT4Communities or about your volunteering please get in touch with us via info@it4communities.org.uk
