Welcome
Welcome to the September edition of the iT4Communities volunteer newsletter.
The summer months are generally quieter for us with fewer charities requesting IT help - probably because they have staff off on holiday. However, we expect to see more requests coming through in the next few weeks so keep an eye on the website and the RSS feed if you're looking for a new project to help with. Or there may be something to suit you in this month's Opportunities of the Month.
We hope within a few months to be able to offer "Active matching" - we'll be running a pilot soon so that we can work out the best way to manage it.
Other features in this month's issue:
- Why we need your support and how you can help
- Some guidelines for good volunteering
- Lasa have issued their Circuit Rider guidelines
- Nominate a friend or colleague for BCS Professional Membership
- Making the iT4C RSS feed work for you
- Don't forget that you can get a special discount on O'Reilly books
- This month's case study ...
- Our usual round-up of IT and volunteering related events
I hope you enjoy this issue. If you have comments on any of the features in this newsletter, about iT4Communities or about your volunteering please get in touch with us via info@it4communities.org.uk
