Welcome
Welcome to the December issue of our volunteer newsletter.
Sadly we've had to say goodbye to Programme Director John Davies. John's been a major driving force behind the iT4Communities initiative over the last few years and will be a hard act to follow. He is planning to expand his freelance work in both the charitable and mobile telecoms areas. Although the team will miss him we wish him all the very best for the future.
On a brighter note we're busy preparing for the IT Volunteer Awards 2008. We've had lots of nominations already but there's still time for you to nominate yourself, your colleague or project that you've worked on. You could win £500 for the charity you worked with. Don't hesitate, nominate now!
Also in this issue
- Silver Surfers steal the show
- Strutting our stuff at the Moulin Rouge
- Praise for iT4Communities at the Pro Bono Week party
- John Davies presented a paper at the Linux 2008 conference
- Our usual round-up of IT and volunteering related events
- And, of course, the all-important opportunities of the month
Finally, since this is our last newsletter before Christmas, I'd like to wish you all the very best for the festive season.
