Review of 2008 / Highlights
To mark the New Year we wanted to look back at our achievements in 2008 and give ourselves and all of you a well deserved pat on the back.
During 2008 we:
- Delivered over £740k in IT support to the charity sector
- Made IT work for over 550 charities
- Recruited over 900 keen volunteers from all across the UK
We've also:
- Been joined by leading IT consultancy for the not-for-profit sector, appiChar, as a sponsor and received donations from a few generous individuals
- Helped an Australian plan to set up iT4Communities down under
- Been endorsed by Google VP and Father of the Internet, Vint Cerf
- Joined the social networking crowd on Facebook and Linked In
And sadly, we said goodbye to John Davies who had been Programme Director since 2004. John is now pursuing a freelance career and we are sure he'll be every bit as successful as he was with iT4Communities.
If you have any stories about your IT volunteering in 2008 then please send them through to Josh at josh@wcit.org.uk so we can share them in future newsletters.
