Silver Surfers Day events

 

Throughout the country Silver Surfers' Day events are taking place on Friday 15th May. These events are taster sessions to introduce elderly people to computers and the internet. Lots of fun things are planned such as Skype calls between sites, shared photo albums and a "Tell us a joke" machine.

Many of the event organisers have asked iT4Communities to help find volunteers to donate a little of their time on the big day. The list below shows all of the requests we've had. If you'd like to help just click on the link, sign-in as usual and request the contact details. Don't be shy! You don't need any special skills, just the enthusiasm to share your skills in a patient, friendly manner.

If none of the events listed here are close to you, check out the Digital Unite website for more events. Most of the organisers will be keen to have an extra pair of hands on the day and it's likely to be a fun and rewarding experience.
