Lifelites - a different sort of volunteering
Do you fancy a different sort of volunteering?
Lifelites, a charity that provides educational and entertainment technology for children in hospices, is looking for amiable individuals with good communication skills to help promote a fundraising initiative in their local area. A background in marketing, sales and/or retail would be useful. Lifelites has been chosen by Currys as their charity partner. Their new status as Currys' chosen charity will see staff at Currys fundraising for Lifelites. Lifelites needs volunteers to raise awareness of Lifelites work among Currys staff to encourage fundraising within each store. This is a face-to-face role that will see the volunteer visit as many Currys stores in their local area as they can. For this reason, it is important that the volunteer has the ability to travel to any of the stores, some of which may be out of town. The volunteer will need to be enthusiastic about Lifelites as they will be personally persuading staff that this is the charity which most deserves their support. Lifelites cause is tangible, emotive and local which means that the volunteer should be able to guarantee support as long as they are able to communicate effectively. The time commitment required is very flexible and can fitted around any schedule. The volunteer may visit as few or as many stores as they wish; it is entirely up to them how much time they decide to dedicate to Lifelites.
Volunteers will be given a script to use in their chat with Currys' staff and mileage expenses will be paid.
